Richard P. Fisher
Vice President, Corporate Development

Read Rich’s Biography

As Vice President, Corporate Development, Rich is responsible for driving the growth and strategic direction at Upsher-Smith.

Rich began his career as an engineer in the aerospace industry, working for General Dynamics, Space Systems Division in San Diego. In 1992 he transitioned to Brady Corporation where he headed an engineering group responsible for the design of electromechanical systems and authored 3 patents.

Rich joined Upsher-Smith in 2004 as a Program Manager, responsible for product development. His role expanded to include portfolio management and Business Development activities, eventually assuming the role as the leader of Corporate Development at Upsher-Smith.

Rich holds a B.S. in Engineering from Montana State University and a M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas.

 

Mike McBride
Vice President, Partner Relations

Read Mike’s Biography

As Vice President, Partner Relations, Mike McBride leads the company’s efforts to grow its relationships across key customers, suppliers and business partners.  His responsibilities include establishing and growing relationships with chain, wholesale and other targeted business partners, and increasing the value of targeted business partnerships to support the company’s new product development, acquisition and trade objectives.

During his more than 25-year tenure at Upsher-Smith, as the company added brand pharmaceutical products to its generic portfolio, Mike helped launch and establish new Consumer Products, Managed Markets and Institutional sales teams and shape the vision for the company’s Partner Relations efforts.

While at Upsher-Smith, Mike has helped launch and grow diverse specialty product lines including several consumer brands and generic products.

Mike holds a B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin—LaCrosse.

 

Sami Yusuf
Vice President, Development Portfolio Strategy

Read Sami’s Biography

As Vice President of Development Portfolio Strategy at Upsher-Smith, Sami is accountable for meeting the strategic business goals of the company’s portfolio and providing input on strategic direction. He is also primarily responsible for achieving a significant return on investment for the portfolio.

Prior to joining Upsher-Smith, Sami held a wide range of positions and gained extensive experience in the pharmaceutical value chain, from discovery and development through post-launch activities, for biotech and pharma companies of all sizes. In addition to his pharmaceutical industry experience, he has held an adjunct faculty position and has experience in direct health care delivery.

Sami holds a B.S. in Microbiology and a B.S. in Molecular Genetics from UCLA, an M.S. in Biological Chemistry from Purdue University, a Pharm D from Creighton University and an M.B.A. from University of Michigan. Sami also holds an active pharmacist license.

 

Lori M. Freese, RPh, BCACP
Corporate Development Director

Read Lori’s Biography

As Corporate Development Director, Lori is responsible for representing Upsher-Smith to prospective business partners and for leading the evaluation and selection of new products to add to Upsher-Smith’s development portfolio.

Lori began her career as a practicing pharmacist, working in both the hospital and long-term care settings for 3 years prior to joining the Drug Information Department at Upsher-Smith in 1993. Lori assumed a leadership role for the Drug Information Department in 1995, with responsibility for directing the communication with patients and healthcare professionals regarding Upsher-Smith’s products. Lori’s role soon was expanded and eventually she was promoted to Corporate Development Director.

Lori holds a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota, maintains an active pharmacy license in the state of Minnesota and received her Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) certification in 2012.

 

Eric Hohenschuh
ANDA Corporate Development Director

Read Eric’s Biography

As Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDA) Corporate Development Director at Upsher-Smith, Eric is responsible for driving efforts to in-license generic Finished Dosage Form (FDF) products, including those at the ANDA and pre-ANDA stages of development.

Before joining Upsher-Smith in 2016, he managed business development for Dishman USA with responsibility for the company’s Generic Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients portfolio. Prior to Dishman, Eric led business development at Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a US-based injectable generic and branded pharmaceutical unit of Daiichi Sankyo.

Eric holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from San Jose State University and an M.B.A. from Villanova University.
