Upsher-Smith has built throughout
its history
Partnerships are vital to our success at Upsher-Smith. We partner
with both domestic and international companies to bring a broad
range of products to market.
The US launch of Divigel® (estradiol gel) 0.1%
is a good example of a successful Upsher-Smith partnership. Upsher-Smith
partnered with Orion Corporation, a leading pharmaceutical company
in Europe, to launch a therapy for hot flashes associated with
menopause. Orion developed the gel formulation and Upsher-Smith
conducted the clinical studies for the US market.
In summer 2007, Upsher-Smith received FDA approval and successfully launched Divigel®. Orion manufactures Divigel®, while Upsher-Smith markets Divigel® through its sales force and professional advertising.

are looking to establish partnerships through licensing agreements, joint ventures,
profit sharing, codevelopment, and comarketing.
Upsher-Smith has a wide distribution network, experienced commercial team,
and well-established customer relationships. Looking to the future, Upsher-Smith
is focused on:
- Building our current pipeline of products
- Copromoting and acquiring women’s health products
- Developing, in-licensing, and acquiring products within the therapeutic
areas of epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease
